Victorian Tea & Fashion Show
Saturday April 14, 2018 11:00 am-3:00pm
Legend has it that a Duchess was too hungry to wait for a late dinner so she began an afternoon custom of enjoying a selection of biscuits and cakes with her friends. Queen Victoria learned of this activity and also fell in love with the idea. By the late 1840’s the royal household was hosting daily tea parties which later became known as “afternoon tea”.
Join Heritage Square Museum for a Victorian afternoon tea and fashion show as we present: First Ladies…of Fashion: First Ladies, whether they are American, French or English have always been fashion trend setters. We will showcase some of the more notable American First Ladies from Martha Washington to the most iconic and fashionable first Lady, Jackie Kennedy. First ladies of the fashion design world include fashion icons as Jeanne-Marie Lanvin and Coco Channel. Also included…the First Ladies of the stage and screen such as Lillian Russell, Sarah Bernhardt, Audrey Hepburn and Helen Hayes. The fashions included in this fabulous show will cover 300 years of fashion history.
