2009
Museum
Highlights:
We thank all of
the team leaders and their fellow interior designers for making the first Designer
Holiday House Tour a success.
Acclaimed interior designer and
LEED Accredited Professional, Sarah Barnard of Sarah
Barnard
Design
worked with Museum staff to create this special holiday tour. Along
with Sarah Barnard, the Designer Holiday House Tour had the impressive and creative talents of Karina
T. Rizzo, founder of Karamia
Design Group, award winning designer Jean
Zinner, founder of J.A.Z.
Designs, and Sylva Kouzouian, Owner
& Designer of Design Peel
Studio. Working along side these designers were 18 team members
and they created magical and spectacular interior environments inside the
William
Perry Mansion,
the Hale
House, and the Richard
Shaw House. For tour sponsors and designer information, click
here.
Last
year's 15th Annual
Holiday Lamplight Celebration was
a huge success once again. Guests danced and experienced an 1890s ball featuring the first Grand Marshall
of the Rose Bowl Parade in the grand parlor of the Perry Residence, screen-testing for silent movies in 1910 inside the
beautiful Hale House, and saw the
beauty of other holiday traditions bringing families together in the 1930s
inside the Valley Knudsen Garden
Residence/Shaw House. Costumed hosts transported visitors from house to
house while warm apple cider and tasty treats awaited museum visitors at the
end of their tour. For more event information... click here.
We thank all of our
guests, sponsors, awardees, Councilman Reyes and Mr. Al Downing for attending
the Cultural
Heritage Foundation of Southern California's 40th
Anniversary Fundraiser on
Saturday,
November 7, at the
San
Antonio Winery.
Presented
by US Bank,
the event raised crucial funds for the museum as it embarks on one of its most
aggressive periods of expansion in years. We also thank
actor Troy
Evans, meteorologist Jane
Monreal, our event sponsors Pankow
Builders Ltd., Southern California
Gas Company - A Sempra Utility, Justin Gershuny, and Davis Blue
Print Co., the staff at San Antonio Winery, and all of our volunteers
for making it such a wonderful and memorable event.
