Ford House Kitchen Garden Gives Back

On Saturday, January 27 during the regularly scheduled garden day, volunteers from Food Forward and Azusa Pacific University came and picked 34 boxes of oranges from our trees. We are grateful that our bounty will reach beyond Heritage Square.

Food Forward is a non-profit organization whose mission is to fight hunger and prevent food waste by rescuing fresh surplus produce, connecting this abundance with people in need, and inspiring others to do the same.

All of the fruit was distributed to some of the 150 agencies Food Forward  sends the produce they pick to.

If you are interested in volunteering in the Ford House Kitchen Garden please reach out to Jessica Rivas Acuña or check our events listings and Facebook page for information about upcoming garden days.
